How the types interact.

A compact table of fit and friction across the fifteen possible pairings. The notes describe tendencies, not predictions about any specific relationship.

The fit ratings are descriptive shorthand: high indicates the pairing has a natural complementarity that often appears in durable working and personal relationships; medium indicates a workable pairing whose friction has to be named to be managed; low indicates a pairing that pulls in opposite directions on something fundamental and is workable only when both parties have done individual work. None of the ratings describe whether any particular relationship will succeed. Particular relationships succeed for reasons the framework does not capture.

Pair-by-pair notes

Digestive paired

Two Digestives make a household. The risk is mutual avoidance of any conflict that would clarify the future.

Digestive × Circulatory

Warmth meets ignition. The Digestive supplies the hearth; the Circulatory brings news from outside it. Friction comes when the Digestive wants to stay home and the Circulatory wants to leave.

Digestive × Muscular

The relational executor pairing. The Digestive softens the Muscular's edges; the Muscular gives the Digestive's instincts a delivery system. Friction lives in the difference between feeding people and finishing things.

Digestive × Skeletal

The Digestive reads the Skeletal's reserve as coldness; the Skeletal reads the Digestive's warmth as overwhelm. Workable when both parties name the gap directly. Often a long, quiet partnership once the temperature is set.

Digestive × Cerebral

An unusual gentleness. The Digestive looks after the body the Cerebral keeps forgetting. The Cerebral provides the framework the Digestive doesn't need but enjoys. Friction at decision-time, when warmth wants harmony and abstraction wants the right answer.

Circulatory paired

Two Circulatories burn brightly. They also burn each other out, then go looking for the next bright thing.

Circulatory × Muscular

The athletic performer pairing. Energy meets execution. Friction when the Circulatory wants to start a third project before the Muscular has finished the first.

Circulatory × Skeletal

The hardest natural pairing. Stimulus and stillness pull in opposite directions. Workable only when both parties have done individual work.

Circulatory × Cerebral

The communicating researcher. The Cerebral brings the substance; the Circulatory delivers it. Friction when the depth of the work meets the speed of the share.

Muscular paired

Two Muscular types build things together. The risk is shared blindness to feelings that aren't on the spec.

Muscular × Skeletal

The master craftsperson pairing. Patient hands. Slow mastery over decades. Friction is rare; when it appears, it's about pace rather than direction.

Muscular × Cerebral

The engineer-founder pairing. The Cerebral asks why; the Muscular asks when. Together they ship. Friction when the thinking phase outlasts the doing phase.

Skeletal paired

Two Skeletals settle into a deeply stable rhythm. The risk is that nothing ever changes, including the things that should.

Skeletal × Cerebral

The institutional thinker. Long horizons and careful argument. The combination produces judges, scholars, founders of slow-burning institutions. Friction when reserve meets abstraction and neither party will say what they want.

Cerebral paired

Two Cerebrals can build an unusually intricate inner life together. The risk is that neither party feeds the other or remembers to leave the house.
